Calcium Gluconate 23%

Dosage in cattle is 250 – 500 mL. It can be administered intravenously or intraperitoneally. Dosage may be repeated at 8- to 12-hour intervals if required.

Indications: For use in cattle as an aid in treating uncomplicated milk fever (parturient paresis).

CMPK Injection

Dosage in cattle is 500 mL per 800 – 1,000 lbs. body weight. For intravenous administration only. Solution should be warmed to room temperature and administered slowly using aseptic precautions.

Indications: For use in cattle as an aid in the treatment of conditions associated with calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium or glucose deficiencies.

Contraindications: Do NOT administer this product to animals showing signs of cardiac distress. Monitor animal’s condition closely.

Dextrose 50%

Dosage in cattle is 100 – 500 mL depending on size and condition of animal. It should be administered intravenously only. Dosage may be repeated in 8–10 hours, or on successive days if necessary.

Indications: As an aid in the treatment of uncomplicated primary ketosis in cattle.

Electrolyte with Dextrose

Dosage for adult cattle and horses is 1,000 – 2,000 mL. For calves, ponies, foals, sheep and swine, it is 500 – 1,000 mL. These are suggested dosages, may vary based on animal condition with respect to dehydration avoidance. Warm solution to body temperature and administer slowly (10 – 30 mL per minute) by intravenous or intraperitoneal injection, using strict aseptic procedures.

Indications: For use in conditions associated with fluid and electrolyte loss (such as dehydration, shock, vomiting and diarrhea).

Contraindications: Do NOT administer intraperitoneally to horses.

Hypertonic Saline 7.2%

Dosage in cattle and horses is 50 – 100 mL per 100 lbs. of bodyweight. Warm to body temperature and administer slowly by intravenous or subcutaneous injection.
*Amount may vary based on animal condition to avoid overhydration.

Indications: For use in replacement therapy of sodium, chloride and water, which may become depleted in many diseases.

Lactated Ringers

Dosage is 2 – 5 mL per lb. of body weight (depending on size and condition of animal), repeated 1 – 3 times daily or as needed. May be injected intravenously, subcutaneously or intraperitoneally (except in horses) using strict aseptic technique.

Indications: For the correction of electrolyte depletion, metabolic acidosis and dehydration of cattle, calves, horses, sheep and swine.

Norcalphos IV

Dosage in cattle is 500 mL; for milk fever prophylaxis is 250 – 500 mL (at time of calving), horses is 250 – 500 mL; and sheep is 50 – 125 mL.

Repeat in 2 – 6 hours if needed. Any remainder must be discarded.
Intravenous administration is always preferable. If used subcutaneously, always distribute dose in several places and massage to facilitate absorption.

Indications: For intravenous use in milk fever, and in calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and glucose deficiency in animals.

Sodium Iodide 20% Injection

Usual dosage is 30 mg per pound of body weight (15 mL/100 lb.). May be repeated at weekly intervals, if necessary. Using aseptic procedures, administer slowly by intravenous injection. Inject carefully to avoid deposition outside of vein.

Indications: For use as an aid in the treatment of actinomycosis (lumpy jaw), actinobacillosis (wooden tongue) and necrotic stomatitis in cattle.

Contraindications: The use of sodium iodide is contraindicated in pregnancy and hyperthyroidism.

Sterile Saline Solution

Warm to body temperature and administer slowly by intravenous or subcutaneous injection. When used as a solvent or diluent for pharmaceuticals and biologics, follow manufacturer’s direction.

Indications: For use in replacement therapy of sodium, chloride and water, which may become depleted in many diseases. Because this solution is isotonic with body fluids, it may be used as a solvent or diluent, for antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals and biologics where compatible and for washing mucous membranes and other tissue surfaces.

Sterile Water for Injection

Sterile Water is made by reverse osmosis and is suitable for use as a diluent for preparation of pharmaceutical solutions when made isotonic by addition of suitable solutes. This is a single dose vial. After a quantity has been withdrawn for use, the remainder should be discarded.

Indications: Sterile Water for Injection is intended for use as a sterile diluent for preparation of injectable solutions.
